Belo Horizonte, which is Portuguese for “beautiful horizon” is the sixth-most populous city in Brazil with just over 2.4 million residents. The city was carefully planned with beautiful green areas to compliment the spectacular parks that surround it.

Estadio Mineirao is one of the most historic venues in Brazilian football and is the home to Atletico Mineiro and Cruzeiro. The stadium will be renovated prior to the start of the World Cup and has a capacity of 66,805.

Brasilia was officially founded in 1960 as the new capital city of Brazil and is the only city in the world to be declared a World Heritage site by UNESCO despite being constructed in the 20th century. The city features unique architecture as well as the majority of Brazil’s federal administration offices, which were moved to Brasilia as part of its status as the capital city.

The Estadio Nacional De Brasilia, which will be built on the site of the city’s previous stadium will have a capacity of 70,042. The stadium is due for completion at the end of 2012 and will feature unique architecture to compliment the established design that Brasilia is famous for.

The Arena Pantanal will be a completely new build focusing on sustainability and environmentally friendly practices given its close proximity to so much natural beauty. This stadium will have a capacity of 42,968 and has already obtained the nickname “O Verãdo” or “The Big Green”.

Fortaleza is a main tourist destiation located in the north-east of Brazil, and boasts wonderful beaches that have gained popularity for different reasons, from traditional fairs and restaurants to exciting bars and nightlife. Beyond the beaches, Fortaleza, which is Portuguese for “fortress” is also the site of Schoonenborch Fort, which illustrates how the city was affected while under Dutch control.

Estadio Castelao is home to Fortaleza’s two most popular football clubs, Ceara and Fortaleza, and will be completely renovated prior to the World Cup. The renovations will not only expand the stadiums capacity to 64,165, but will also feature a new roof to cover its tiers.

The new Estadio das Dunas is being built especially for the World Cup and will sit upon site of the city’s former football stadium. The new stadium received its name and the incredible and unique façade from the sand dunes that the region is famous for.

Porto Alegre is recognized as one of Brazil’s greenest cities as its population of 1.4 million is almost matched by its number of trees and green spaces. Porto Alegre is one of the few major cities in Brazil that has cold winters, which at times can include snow and subzero temperatures.

The Estadio Beira-Rio was originally opened in 1969 and took almost ten years to build with fans helping complete the stadium by donating bricks, cement and iron to the project. This much-loved stadium will be renovated in preparation for the World Cup and will feature a capacity of 50,287.

The Arena Pernambuco will be newly built for the World Cup. Given the city already hosts three historic Brazilian Football Clubs, its passion for the Game cannot be denied. The Arena will seat 43,921 spectators and is expected to act as an economic catalyst in the area of Grande Recife where the stadium will be built.

Half Day Corcovado Tour
On this half day tour you will visit the most famous statue in all of Rio - Christ the Redeemer on top of Corcovado Mountain.
