2026 Winter Games FAQ

The 2026 Winter Games is a huge global event and we understand you’ll likely have a lot of questions about how to make the most out of your travel experience. Our team is at your service to assist with Winter Games inquiries. In addition, we’ve compiled a list of some of the most popular questions below.

What are some of the best hotel options for the Winter Games?

Our preparations for major events like the Winter Games begin years in advance, scouting out the area’s top hotels to ensure we find the best for our guests. In order to provide a luxury experience for your Winter Games vacation, we’ve based our packages in Milan, convenient to world-class dining, extraordinary shopping, cultural attractions, and Winter Games venues.

How can I get tickets to the Winter Games events?

Tickets to the 2026 Winter Games events are not yet available. Once they are released, they will be available from the Games’ official website: milanocortina2026.olympics.com/en/.

What travel documents do I need for my trip to Italy?

All visitors to Italy will require a valid passport with at least 3 months’ validity from the expected date of departure. In addition to this, most visitors to the country (starting in 2025) will require an ETIAS travel authorization. This must be applied for in advance and is subject to a fee. Our pre-travel specialists will be available to all our guests to assist with questions regarding entry requirements.

How do you get to Italy?

Most of our Winter Games guests will arrive in Milan’s Malpensa International Airport (MXP). Being a major world city, travelers should have plenty of options for flights for the Winter Games. That said, we do recommend booking early as flights during major sporting events do tend to book up faster than usual. Our team will greet all our Winter Games guests at the airport direct them to their hotel transfer.

What will the weather be like in Milan for the Winter Games?

Milan in February is typically cool, ideal for a winter sporting event. Average daytime highs range from 32°F to 48°F (0°C to 9°C). February is also one of the city’s drier months, though rain is a possibility. We recommend our Winter Games guests plan to pack plenty of layers to accommodate all weather possibilities.

What currency is accepted in Milan? And which payment methods are best?

The currency of Italy is the euro (EUR). Major credit cards are widely accepted in the city at hotels, upscale restaurants, and major stores. It is a smart idea to have both a card and some Euros on hand for smaller transactions or independent vendors that do not accept credit.
