2027 Ryder Cup Schedule

2027 Ryder Cup Schedule

The Ryder Cup provides fans with a full week of golf action, featuring top pros from Europe and the USA. The tournament has a unique schedule that differs from the majors, due to the match play format. We’ve detailed how the week plays out below, to help you plan your Ryder Cup experience.

When is the 2027 Ryder Cup?

The 2027 Ryder Cup will take place from September 13-19, 2027, at Adare Manor in Limerick, Ireland. The first four days of the tournament are build-up or practice days, which are followed by three competition days. The Ryder Cup takes place biennially, alternating its host location between Europe and the United States.

Player Arrivals

Monday, September 13

The 2027 Ryder Cup kicks off on Monday with player arrivals, unofficial practice, and media sessions with the pros. The course is generally closed to the public this day.

Practice Day

Tuesday, September 14

The two teams will participate in practice rounds, where they’ll have the opportunity to scout out the course, work on their game, and test out their equipment.

Practice Day, All-Star Match

Wednesday, September 15

Practice continues on Wednesday, which will also feature the Ryder Cup All-Star Match. This fun event pits 8 European celebrity all-stars against 8 American celebrity all-stars for 10 holes of 2-Man Scramble. Celebrity all-stars at the 2025 Ryder Cup included John McEnroe, Noah Kahan, Teemu Selanne, and Catherine Zeta-Jones.

Practice Day, Opening Ceremony

Thursday, September 16

Thursday brings the final practice day of the 2027 Ryder Cup. Following the practice is the Opening Ceremony, where the full 12-man rosters will be introduced for both Team Europe and Team USA. Typically the Opening Ceremony will also feature national anthems and speeches, as well as traditional music, dancers, and entertainers.

Match Days

Friday, September 17, and Saturday, September 18

Friday and Saturday are the first two days of competition at the 2027 Ryder Cup. The days start out with a four-match session of foursomes, where each two-man team plays one ball per hole (taking turns). On each hole, the team with the lowest score wins the hole. In the event of a tie, the hole is halved.

In the afternoons, the competition turns to four-ball. Again, there are two-man teams, though this time they each play their own ball. The lowest score on each team is counted, and the team with the lowest score wins the hole. Just like in foursomes, if there is a tie, the hole is halved.

Final Match Day, Closing Ceremony

Sunday, September 19

The tournament wraps up with singles matches, which feature all 24 players competing in 12 consecutive head-to-head matches. One player from each team competes in each match with the lowest score winning the hole. The pressure and excitement on the final day is high, as the scoreboard can shift dramatically. The tournament concludes with the Closing Ceremony, where the winning team is presented with the trophy.
