Experience the Open in Style!

It seems fitting that 145th British Open will take place in Scotland, the birthplace of golf, for the second straight year. The Royal Troon Golf Club will be home to the 2016 British Open and both the club and the country have already proven to be elite hosts for the sport’s oldest major. The scenery will be spectacular and the golf will be even better!

The 2015 British Open ended with a thrilling playoff between Zach Johnson, Louis Oosthuizen, and Marc Leishman. The three were tied at 15 under but it was Zach Johnson claiming victory after the four-hole playoff. Will he repeat or can one of his rivals best him in 2016?

This year, because we know golf fans love playing the game as much as watching it, we can include rounds at some of the best courses in the country, including The Old Course, home of last year’s British Open. As the top players in the sport gather on the world’s stage, join us to celebrate the tradition, the skill, and the excitement of seeing who will win the elusive Claret Jug.

Complete 2016 British Open ticket packages available from $2,675 per person (based on double occupancy).

The Ultimate British Open Itinerary

An event as rich in history as it is in skill, the British Open features the best golfers in the game at the most scenic links courses in the world.

This year’s event will play out at Royal Troon Golf Course. This 137-year-old course has seen its share of memorable moments and will add plenty more at the 2016 British Open.

In 2016, you can enjoy the ultimate golf weekend. Spend 4 days in St. Andrews golfing the courses you’ve always dreamed of playing in addition to watching how the pros do it at one of the year’s most prestigious tournaments. There’s something uniquely special about enjoying a tournament of this magnitude in the birthplace of golf. Scotland is a spectacular destination in its own right, but as a golf destination, it’s unparalleled.

Day 1 – Friday, July 15, 2016
Today you arrive in Glasgow for the 2016 British Open golf tournament. Upon arrival at the airport, you will be met by your personal chauffeur who will take you to the Hilton Glasgow, your home for the next 3 nights. One of the finest hotels in the city, the Hilton is well located in the heart of Glasgow, a perfect base for exploring the city. Upon first glance, Scotland’s largest city seems a bit sedate but don’t be fooled; Glasgow has plenty of superb restaurants, world-class shopping and a vibrant nightlife.

After your arrival, you may wish to relax and freshen up from your travels and then head out to explore lovely downtown Glasgow. For dinner, a visit to The Ubiquitous Chip is a must while in the city. This renowned restaurant has been a staple on Glasgow’s restaurant scene for over 40 years. The signature starter is (appropriately) venison haggis with champ tatties, carrot crisp, and turnip cream. Before you leave, make sure to check out the Wee Pub, the smallest pub in the country.

Day 2 – Saturday, July 16, 2016
This morning, you can enjoy a delightful breakfast at the Hilton before your private car arrives to take you out to the Royal Troon Golf Club. This stunning links course is one of only 5 venues that acts as British Open host. Today you will experience some of the best golfers in the world compete at one of the finest courses anywhere.

After a magical day at The Open, your driver will return you to your hotel. Tonight, you will be a guest at a Gala Dinner conveniently located at the Hilton. Enjoy a delicious dinner among the company of other golf fans and VIPs.

Day 3 – Sunday, July 17, 2016
Enjoy a filling breakfast before your driver arrives to once again take you to Royal Troon. Today, you will be a part of British Open history as you witness a new champion crowned. Which pros will rise to the occasion and which will succumb to the pressure? Watch how the final round plays out while enjoying the stunning scenery that surrounds you.

After the presentation ceremony, your driver will escort you back to the Hilton Glasgow for your last night in this wonderful city. After a full day at the course, a hearty meal is in order. We recommend heading over to Tiffney’s Steakhouse in the heart of the West End. All of Tiffney’s steaks are dry-aged for a minimum of 35 days, resulting in one of the most tender, flavorful cuts of meat you’ll ever have the pleasure of tasting.

Day 4 – Monday, July 18, 2016
After enjoying breakfast at the Hilton, your driver will meet you in the lobby to take you to St. Andrews, Scotland, the birthplace of golf. Once you arrive and get checked in to The Old Course Hotel, your home for the next 4 nights, you may want to freshen up a bit and change into your golf gear. When you’re ready, your driver will be waiting to take you to the New Course for an afternoon round. Don’t let the name fool you, the New Course was built in 1895 and offers a challenging links course on which you can test your skill.

After a busy day, you’ve likely built up quite an appetite. Good news, you can get a fantastic meal not too far from the 18th hole. Head upstairs in the St. Andrews Links clubhouse to Swilcan restaurant for a bite to eat and one of their famous Tom Morris cocktails. Don’t forget to take some time to savor the panoramic views of The Old Course from your table.

Day 5 – Tuesday, July 19, 2016
Enjoy a delicious Scottish breakfast at the hotel before your driver takes you to yet another stunning links course. Today, you’ll find yourself at St Andrews Castle Course. A newcomer on the St. Andrews golf scene, the Castle Course is perched upon a rugged cliff-top, perfectly positioned for panoramic views of St. Andrews. While the views are a highlight for sure, the course is not to be overlooked. Recent improvements have made this challenging course better than ever.

If you’re looking for something a little more casual for supper tonight, we recommend The Tavern for some warm Scottish hospitality and some of the best pub grub you’ll ever taste!

Day 6 – Wednesday, July 20, 2016
After a refreshing night’s sleep and a hearty breakfast at the hotel, your driver will once again meet you in advance of your trip to Kingsbarns Golf Links. Not only is the course ranked one of the top 100 in the world, it also offers spectacular sweeping views of the North Sea coast.

After a relaxing day on the links, and a clubhouse lunch, your driver will take you back to The Old Course Hotel to freshen up before supper. Tonight you may want to indulge in one of Chef John Kelly’s exquisite creations at The Grange Inn restaurant. From the outside, you’ll see a quaint 17th century farmhouse but inside, you’ll see that it’s lovingly been converted into a charming restaurant with some of the best food (and some of the best views) in town.

Day 7 – Thursday, July 21, 2016day-7-7
After breakfast at the hotel, you’ll be escorted over to The Old Course, home of last year’s British Open. We saved the best for last; this iconic course is considered by many to be the birthplace of golf and today, it will be yours to experience. Marvel at the large double greens, try your luck at the Road Hole, and take some pictures on the Swilcan Bridge.

After an unforgettable day on the course, you may want to try one more Road Hole, the award-winning restaurant at The Old Course Hotel. Enjoy a drink and some exceptional food while you reflect on the spectacular courses you’ve visited this week.

Day 8 – Friday, July 22, 2016
Enjoy one last Scottish breakfast at The Old Course Hotel. When you’re ready, you driver will be ready and waiting to transfer you to the airport and your journey home.

2016 British Open at Royal Troon Golf Club

Royal Troon Golf ClubView Gallery Royal Troon Golf Club Royal Troon Golf Club Royal Troon Golf Club Royal Troon is no stranger to the British Open, having hosted the tournament nine times previously. The 137-year-old club is home to the Old Course and the Portland Course, the former of which will provide the backdrop to the 2016 British Open. In keeping with tradition, the spectacular Old Course is a challenging links-style course along the picturesque Ayrshire Coast. It boasts both the shortest and longest holes in Open Championship golf (8th hole and 6th hole respectively). While the front nine holes would be challenging to even a seasoned pro, the back nine are particularly difficult as players have the north-westerly wind to contend with.
