Belmont Park is known around the world as the home to the Belmont Stakes and is considered one of the elite racetracks in the country. Called ‘The Championship Track,’ it first opened on May 4, 1905, and nearly every major champion in racing history since the early 20th century has competed on the racecourse – including each of the 13 Triple Crown winners. The dirt track is the longest dirt thoroughbred racetrack in North America and is located in the community of Elmont in Nassau County, New York.
