This popular race takes place on the Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya, one of the most diverse courses on the tour. The Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya opened in 1991, hosting the Spanish Grand Prix for the first time that same year. The following year saw the track host another major event: the 1992 Summer Olympic Games. The circuit has remained home to the Spanish Grand Prix since its inception and is a popular practice site as the track features a variety of corners. Because of their familiarity with Barcelona-Catalunya, the circuit is a favorite not only with fans, but also amongst Formula 1 drivers and their teams.
