The Ultimate World Cup Itinerary
Day 1 – July 7, 2014
Today you arrive in Rio de Janeiro where you will be met at the airport of your choice (commercial or private) by a Roadtrips onsite host and transferred to the famed Copacabana Palace Hotel, your home for the next 7 nights. Ideally located facing the legendary Copacabana beach, this iconic property is a true landmark, one of the grandest hotels on the continent. An imposing Mediterranean-style building, the hotel has been the meeting place of kings, princes and presidents over years. Style, sumptuous cuisine, and impeccable personal service embody the Copa experience.
This evening, we suggest a quiet and relaxed dinner at the Copacabana Palace Hotel's Pérgula Restaurant. This restaurant features first class Brazilian and international cuisine, and treats its guests to al fresco dining, or tables in the restaurant’s elegant dining room to savor the tantalizing array of grilled meats and a wonderful assortment of risottos and homemade pastas.
Day 2 – July 8, 2014
After enjoying breakfast at your leisure, you will meet with your Roadtrips onsite host to review your personal itinerary. Your knowledgeable host will be available to you throughout your stay, acting as your own personal concierge with suggestions, access to Rio's best tables, and a wealth of optional day tours. After the short review take a stroll along stunning Copacabana Beach before your private car arrives and takes to the airport for your flight to Belo Horizonte and tonight’s exciting semi final matchup. Upon arrival in Belo Horizonte, you will be personally met and taken to Splendido Restaurante, one of Belo's top restaurants, for a pre-match meal before being transferred by private car to the stadium. This afternoon, you’ll be the envy of millions of people around the world watching the match on their televisions. You’ll watch live as two teams battle it out in this sudden-death contest that will determine who will move on to the World Cup Final. After the game, you will be chauffeured back to the airport to return to Rio and your Copa home.
Day 3 – July 9, 2014
After the excitement of yesterday’s thrilling semi-final matchup in Belo Horizonte, you may want to sleep in this morning and enjoy a leisurely breakfast before catching a little sun poolside or enjoying a relaxing spa treatment. Tonight is a great evening to enjoy dinner at CT Boucherie where you can sample more of the spectacular cuisine Brazil has to offer. Located in Leblon, the most exclusive and affluent area of Rio, patrons are treated to some of the best quality cuts of meat, which are successfully used to entice patrons to return to this French inspired gem.
Day 4 – July 10, 2014
After breakfast, enjoy the morning at your leisure, before being met in the lobby for your private half-day tour of Corcovado this afternoon. Led by an expert local guide, you will visit the most famous statue in all of Rio – Christ the Redeemer on top of Corcovado Mountain. Drive through the exotic Tijuca National Park to reach the main scenic spot in the city. You will be taken to the summit, where standing on the viewing platform you will take in the gorgeous panoramic view, including downtown Rio, Sugarloaf Mountain, and Copacabana beach. The view is breathtaking and you are sure to take some unforgettable pictures from this iconic South American peak!
Day 5 – July 11, 2014
Enjoy breakfast and the morning at your leisure. You may want to join residents and visitors of Rio alike for a walk along the spectacular crescent of Copacabana beach or check out some of the world-class shopping in the area.
For a new perspective of Rio, this afternoon you will be met in the lobby for your half-day Guanabara Bay cruise. A schooner will guide you through the Bay as you pass by sights such as Sugar Loaf Mountain, Flamengo beach, the Fortress of Sao Joao, and Fiscal Island. This unique, aquatic perspective of Rio is a great way to explore the coastal city. For those seeking the ultimate in luxury, we can arrange a private yacht charter, so you can spend a relaxing day exploring the coastline in style, or just enjoying the amenities onboard.
This evening, we suggest heading over to the fashionable Leblon area for dinner at Zuka, a hip restaurant offering Brazilian fusion with a foodie flair. Day 6 – July 12, 2014
After enjoying breakfast at your leisure, why not head to Copacabana beach and relax in the sun. Take advantage of The Copacabana Palace’s exclusive beach service with sun loungers and umbrellas, fresh fruit and water, and beach assistants to look after your belongings while you take a dip in the spectacular water.
If you would prefer to spend today exploring more of Rio, we suggest taking a half-day private tour of Colonial Rio. On this tour, your expert guide will take you back in time to visit colonial Brazil. You will see the Gloria Church and the nearby aqueduct on which a tramway now runs to link downtown with the artsy neighborhood of Santa Teresa. Visit the 15th November Square, the historic center of Rio, as well as the fine example of baroque art, the Sao Bento Monastery. You will also experience the Rio Branco Avenue, one of the main thoroughfares of the city, which is the scene for many important events. Today, you will be in the middle of it all, witnessing football history at its highest level. To add to the experience, you will enjoy hosted private transfers to and from Maracanã Stadium.
Day 8 – July 14, 2014

Estadio Mineirao is one of the most historic venues in Brazilian football and is the home to Atletico Mineiro and Cruzeiro. The stadium will be renovated prior to the start of the World Cup and has a capacity of 66,805.
