For the second time since the Heritage Classic began in 2003, the Montreal Canadians will visit the Western Conference to take on an Alberta team. The Calgary Flames will be the host team this time around, as the two will compete in the elements at McMahon Stadium. Temperatures this time of year tend to be between +1 and -11 degrees Celsius (between 33 and 14 Fahrenheit), but the weather won’t keep fans away as these annual games continue to draw hockey supporters by the thousands every winter.

Your preferred seats at McMahon Stadium
Used for the opening and closing ceremonies of the 1988 Winter Olympics, McMahon Stadium is rich in sports history. Home to the Calgary Stampeders of the CFL, the stadium is also called home by the University of Calgary Dinos, as the university is the current owner of the facility. Built in 1960, the stadium has undergone several renovations and expansions, and presently can hold just over 35,000 spectators. This will be the stadium’s first Heritage Classic, and its first ever outdoor NHL hockey game.
