Three Great Reasons to go to the 2016 US Open

This year has already been incredible for tennis fans, and is set to only get better. Seeing Serena Williams win Wimbledon with such style was fantastic, and witnessing Andy Murray become a double Wimbledon winner by beating Milos Raonic was so good to watch too. In a week the Summer Games will kick off and we’ll get to see some of the biggest names in the game compete for their countries. After that, we are really looking forward to taking guests to the 2016 US Open, where we’ve arranged some fantastic travel packages. Here are three reasons why you should consider coming with us:

  • The payoff here just got even bigger for players. The 2016 US Open is the most lucrative of tennis’ four grand-slam tournaments, and this year offers the biggest purse in the game – a total of $45.3 million in prize money, which is an increase of 10% from last year. Some of the biggest names in tennis, such as Belinda Bencic, are skipping the Summer Games in Rio in order to put their full concentration on the 2016 US Open.
  • Last year’s US Open was full of drama. It was a shock to many tennis fans when Roberta Vinci destroyed Serena Williams’ chance at winning every grand slam on the circuit. And of course Novak Djokovic won out over Roger Federer in an epic showdown. You can be sure that this year’s US Open will be just as exciting. With Serena Williams having just won Wimbledon, she’s a favorite to the tournament. Roger Federer has bowed out of the rest of the season with a knee injury. Who knows what else will happen before we get to the US Open?
  • It is in New York. Seeing any major sports event is a real thrill because this is such an incredible city to visit. We have rooms booked at some of the city’s finest hotels, including the Ritz-Carlton Central Park, and the Langham Place Park Avenue (which has been ranked as the number one hotel in the US). We can customize your itinerary so that you see the very best of what interests you while you’re in New York (outside of all the tennis you want to watch). Want to catch a Broadway show or play a few rounds of golf? We can add that in to your trip.
